Elliot Page, who came out as transgender in December last year is celebrating a new milestone in his journey. After becoming the first trans man in history to grace the cover of TIME magazine, Page is continuing his journey of being vulnerable and open with the world, in an endeavor to inspire others.
The actor posted his first-ever shirtless photo to Instagram, writing "Trans bb's first swim trunks" to Instagram.
Page sported red swim trunks, aviator sunglasses, and a baseball cap in the photo, but all fans could focus on were his incredibly toned abs! The actor added the hashtags "#transjoy" and "#transisbeautiful" in the post, and his admirers are proud of him for taking the next step in his journey.
From Miley Cyrus to Ruby Rose, celebrities and fans from across the world couldn't stop praising Elliot for his summer body and wrote thousands of comments under his photo.
Page's co-stars from The Umbrella Academy had great things to say! Justin Cornwell wrote "Dude I see why you crushed me on that workout!" and Justin H. Min added "okkk summer ready."
Miley Cyrus commented "Hot" and added a heart emoji and Ruby Rose said "You look phenomenal!!!"
The Vampire Diaries actor Nina Dobrev shared "You look amazing...And most of all happy."
Tanya Tagag added "Can I borrow some abs? Thanks!"
Elliot has always been a vibrant voice for the trans community and more so since coming out to the world. In his cover story for TIME magazine, the actor revealed he underwent top surgery which completely transformed his life.
He later sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a deeply emotional interview, where he opened up about identifying with himself and shared how he felt it was "imperative" to come out to the world. Elliot hoped to reach out to transgender youth who were facing discrimination and help them feel a little less alone.
Elliot Page is currently filming season 3 of Netflix's The Umbrella Academy and will reprise his role as Vanya Hargreeves. The actor previously explained he is still misgendered on the set of the show, as the character will continue to be depicted as a female, with Page portraying her.
