If you have spent any semblance of time on the Internet within the last six or so years, then you have probably heard the name Logan Paul more than a few times. The social media star has amassed a huge following, and he has been raking in millions of dollars since becoming a star several years back.

Through the years, people have been able to watch Logan Paul spend his fortune on a variety of different things.

At one point, this guy spent millions on what turned out to be a fake Pokémon card sets.

"In December, Paul spent $3.5 million on what he thought was a case of first-edition Pokemon booster boxes, a rare find for fans of Pokemon. It was the most anyone had spent on the cards. PokeBeach, the ultimate trading card fan site, did not initially report on the news as a result of being skeptical of the buy. PokeBeach would go into further detail regarding the sale of the case, which prompted Paul to do some further research," Sporting News writes.

This was not the only time that Paul was willing to drop millions of dollars on some Pokémon cards. In fact, he once spent over $5 million to obtain a single card.

How He Got His Rare Pikachu Card

So, how did Logan Paul come to own such a rare and expensive Pokémon card?

According to Guinness, "YouTuber Logan Paul (USA) has recently acquired a coveted PSA Grade 10 Pikachu Illustrator card following a record-breaking trade worth $5,275,000 (£3,862,424 / €4,477,146). The card was purchased by Paul from Marwan Dubsy in Dubai on 22 July 2021, breaking the record for most expensive Pokémon trading card sold at a private sale."

Not only did Paul have to pony up crazy amounts of cash, but he had to throw in a card of his own to sweeten the deal.

"To obtain the PSA Grade 10 Pikachu Illustrator card, Paul exchanged a PSA Grade 9 Pikachu Illustrator card worth $1,275,000 that he had purchased from renowned sports card collector Matt Allen in Como, Italy. This Grade 9 card plus $4,000,000 equalled the cost of the pristine Grade 10 Pikachu Illustrator card."

Most sane people wouldn't dream of spending millions of dollars on a trading card, but when you have millions of dollars just lying around, then why not have fun with it?

Paul, naturally, was elated to get his hands on such a rare card.

"The Pikachu Illustrator is one of the rarest and most highly coveted Pokémon cards in the world. Only 39 were given out to Illustration contest winners in 1998, and this was a purchase for the only one in the world that has been graded a perfect "10,"" Paul said.
